The Tando lifts the towing vehicle’s tail and therefore improves road clearance.
Features and benefits:
The friction damper controls the lateral movement of the hitch arrangement formed by the rubber block, thereby reducing any tendency to snake.
Pitching is reduced by the bridge which is designed to stay virtually parallel to the road at all times.
The rubber block action also tends to reduce sinking at the hitch by transferring some of the weight to the tow car’s front axle at the hitch by transferring some of the weight to the tow car’s front axle and some to the caravan’s axle.
The result is an effective reduction in the caravan’s nose weight.
The actual amount will vary from outfit to outfit but could be in the region of 15 kg so do bear this in mind.
It could even save you having to fit rear spring assisters to your car.
On very hard braking it will greatly reduce snaking.
Our roads today are the train tracks and it is not uncommon to find a huge freight truck passing a caravan at more than 120 km/h, buffeting the side of
the caravan with its bow wave of air and turning the driver into a white knuckled stress ball!
If the caravan should then be pushed onto the shoulder of the road and cut up and seriously damage a tyre, only the experienced of the “experienced” will be able to safely stop the car without landing up in the side of the road or worse rolling the caravan, in such a scenario the Tando stabiliser will not only greatly reduce the effect of the bow wave of your caravan, but will also help maintain directional stability of the tow vehicle, reducing the chances of damaged tyres and thereby making the incident a lot less dangerous than what it would have been had you not had the Tando stabiliser fitted.
Many of today’s stabiliser users have had a bad experience or realized, in time, that technology can be used to make towing a lot safer.
Bosal lives by these standards to protect you and the product you are towing.
Available at all Supa Quicks, Speedy’s and Kwikfits. Contact the branch closest to you in your area or bennies@bosal.co.za if you have no luck!
IMPORTANT
Stabiliser must be overhauled thoroughly at least once a year or after 2000 km of towing. The stabiliser must be dismantled pads and friction disks must be inspected for cracking or excessive wear. Torque the M12 nut to38 Nm and the M10 to 50Nm.

Where can i buy one in Pretoria
Would you recommend that I put one on a trailer as well. I’m thinking that with the stretch of untarred road that leads to the west coast, it will help in keeping the wheels on the road.
We would absolutely recommend it.
the TANDO is effecitve on caravans, trailers, boats / jetski / bike trailers as well as general car towing.
You can’t go wrong!
Hi, I am looking for the correct position of the bracket on the caravan – dimensions would be great thanks.

I would like to know where to fit the bracket on the caravan’s “A”frame…distance from thr front or ball and the hight
I fitted my tando…the mesurement you gave on your video of 120 mm from the end of the stabiliser arm for the bracket on the A-frame does not work out .The A-frame has got holes in it so I had to move it closer and it is now 150 mm from the end of the stabiliser. Will it make a difference on the performance of the tando ? And I have extra hole in my A-frame cover ???
It looks like the mount sandwiches between the ball and the hitch plate. My vito has a ball and arm all in one that disappears underneath. Is there a version for this?
Can you please tell me how much newton the center nut on a tando be torqued to?
Waar kan ek ‘n braket kry om op die gooseneck te gebruik. Kry mens so iets?
Ek sleep al jare met ‘n Tando, maar my voertuig het nou ‘n gooseneck.
Baie dankie
Hennie
Where can I buy a replacement friction pad for my tando and a quick release clip that secures the tando in place once threaded through the tow hitch connection?
Thanks
Hi Graham, were you able to get the correct part from your fitment centre?
My vrae:
- Kan ek die onderdeel met ‘n stuk 19 mm galv waterpyp vervang?
- Kan die agente te Mosselbaai of George dit repareer?
- Kostes?
- Is die wyse waarop ek dit gemonteer het OK?
